Bed Bugs Burrow Into Wood

Bed bugs dont chew through wood in search of a good hiding place. One of the largest concerns related to these wasps are their tendency to burrow into the wood of trees but often go unnoticed.
Bed bugs climb hide and hang out on clothing. They do not have the physical capabilities to do it. The burrow marks are scaly in appearance.
They lay their eggs on the bark of trees and the larvae bore into the wood and spend 1 to 3 years developing and consuming woodburrowing through it. Common bed bugs do not have this ability to bury themselves in wood as they do not have strong pine trees. Bed bugs do not have mouth parts for chewing or burrowing.
Still they always prefer to live in your mattress or bedding rather than living in the wood. So when bed bugs are found in wood furniture they are just living in the existing cracks crevices and dark hidey holes that the wood affords them. They have a straw-like proboscis akin to a mosquitos.

That is impossible for them. This means that occasionally timber is harvested with the larvae of these wasps still developing inside.
